British firm Vodafone - the world's largest mobile phone company by revenue, inked a deal with Apple Inc to sell iPhone in 10 countries with Vodafone network. In a statement Vodafone said: "Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network," 101

Gizmodo is reporting that Apple's recent iPhone firmware update has been hacked. This comes after the most recent hack allowing the iphone to be unlocked and used on different carrier networks (called jailbreaking). This hack is not considered a "jailbreak" hack, but rather a complete hack that allows you to run _any_ app and use _any_ compatible carrier you want in the world. 71

You can bet that Apple wants to move the iphone into the corporate world to compete with the likes of Research in Motion. Their ambitions don't stop there. They now see an opportunity to enter the much sought after world of enterprise computing. They should consider the iphone their "trojan horse" into the corporate IT world. 162

A study released by M:Metrics claims that iPhone is already the most popular device for accessing news and information on the mobile Web, with 85 percent of iPhone users accessing news and information in the month of January. That compares to 13.1 percent of the overall mobile phone market and 58.2 percent of total smartphone owners (e.g. Blackberries). M:Metrics goes on to say that the iPhone is "delivering off-the-charts usage from everything to text messaging to mobile video."
