Apple should buy Yahoo!

Sounds ridiculous? I don't think so. Apple has always been known for their innovations and I think the cultures of both Yahoo! and Apple would provide a synergistic enthusiasm that will drive even more innovations.

This deal would make a lot of sense and I'll outline some reasons below:

1) Forget the MacOS. Stand-alone OSes is not the way of the future. Apple could start building online software and take away desktop share from Microsoft that way.
2) Their online presence would explode. This would increase sales of items they are already doing well with (e.g. iTunes) and give them the ability to market other initiatives. How does AppleTV sound?
3) They could move into the lucrative world of online advertising.
4) They would be able to introduce a whole host of new mobile applications for the iPhone.
5) It will be a direct blow to their to their long time foe Microsoft.
